Welcome to home of Pixar DVD

Fairytales and happy endings never really quite escape our minds even as we grow up. There are days when after a tough day of living reality, people tend to indulge in their inner child and stock up on cartoons and animated movies.
Pixar DVD

Right on the heels of the well-loved Disney Studios is Pixar. Pixar Animation Studios takes animation to another level with its CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) animated feature films that have been highly acclaimed all over the world, reaching homes and earning over $5 billion worldwide. It used to be that Pixar stood on its own back in 1986 when it was founded, but as of 2006, Pixar is currently owned by The Walt Disney Company.

Since its breakthrough with the animated feature film Toy Story in 1995, Pixar has been creating many more films which have been commercial and critical successes. As a result, Pixar and Walt Disney have been sharing their works of art through the distribution of clear copies via Pixar DVDs. These DVDs are now the products that have reached homes and touched lives – not only of children but also of full grown adults.

Each of the 10 feature films that Pixar has created have been marketed under Pixar DVD, and more are said to be in the works. The Pixar DVDs currently in circulation include the following:

•     Toy Story (1995) – starring Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Don Rickles, and Jim Varney.
•    A Bug’s Life (1998) – starring Dave Foley, Kevin Spacey, Denis Leary, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus
•    Toy Story 2 (1999) – starring Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, and Kelsey Grammer.
•    Monster’s Inc. (2001) – starring John Goodman, Billy Crystal, Mary Gibbs, and Steve Buscemi.
•    Finding Nemo (2003) – starring Albert Brooks, Ellen DeGeneres, Alexander Gould, and Willem Dafoe.
•    The Incredibles (2004) – starring Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, and Spencer Fox.
•    Cars (2006) – starring Owen Wilson, Paul Newman, Bonnie Hunt, and Daniel Lawrence Whitney.
•    Ratatouille (2007) – starring Patton Oswalt, Lou Romano, Peter Sohn, and Brad Garrett.
•    WALL-E (2008) – starring Ben Burtt, Elissa Knight, Jeff Garlin, and Fred Willard.
•     Up! (2009) – starring Edward Asner, Christopher Plummer, Jordan Nagai, and Bob Petersen.

Among the currently distributed Pixar DVDs, Finding Nemo is Pixar’s biggest success film, which has grossed over $800 million all over the world. Another milestone in Pixar DVDs is the release of Up!, which was the first film Pixar had that was presented in Disney Digital 3D.

Currently, the array of Pixar DVDs are about to have new companions in their catalog. The animation studios are hard at work creating the eleventh and twelfth film in the form of Toy Story 3, which is due for release in June 18, 2010, and Cars 2, which will be released sometime in the summer of 2011.

As it is, these Pixar DVDs have become one of the main sources of relaxation for children and adults alike. With readily available Pixar DVDs to watch, people can easily slip out of their shoes and have a blast. With any luck, these Pixar DVDs will continue to expand and add more to the collection of critically acclaimed animated features.

Pixar DVDs may be purchased individually, although there are some stores that sell these DVDs in packages, or together in sequels. There are also some box sets that can be purchased, and prices often vary because of the bulk purchase.

For those who are interested in purchasing Pixar DVDs, some of these DVDs may be found on Pixar’s website, although some may be purchased in other websites that have been authorized for distribution. In most cases, visitors can check out the gallery of the DVDs as well as view some trailers of the DVDs being featured.

It is never too late to indulge in one’s inner child and settle for a day of watching Pixar movies and munch on popcorn. Besides, who said children get to have all the fun?
